RICHARD BEAUDETTE  Dick created the first darkroom in 1946 at St. Dom's High School, in Lewiston, Maine, where he was born and raised.  He worked as a press photographer for the local French newspaper "Le Messager" in Lewiston.  Dick worked for a local photo shop, "Modern Photo Service", both in the darkroom and as a wedding photographer.

Dick was recently the recipient of a certificate of recognition from PSA (Photographic Society of Ameria) for 25 years of continuous service.  He has participated and officiated in many camera clubs in several cities, including the Lowell CC, Lawrence CC (now the Merrimack Valley CC), the Brockton CC, and the Sugaro CC of Mesa Arizona.  Dick is a member and former chairman of the prestigious Massachusetts Camera Naturalists (Camnats).  He is a recipient of STAR recognition in PSA's Open & Nature Divisions.

Also numerous awards have been added to his collection from PSA, NECCC, and local clubs.  Dick is currently our Representative  to NECCC (The New England Camera Club Council)

KEN HARVEY (Program Chair) Most of my formal training in art stems from studying architecture in the early 1960’s at Pratt Institute in New York City. Courses included free-hand drawing, perspective, color theory, composition, and other training that was directly transferable to photography.

My interest in photography grew more serious when I was in the US Army and stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, from 1966 to 1968. While there, I was able to use the Army photo lab where I developed my own film, printed enlargements, and mounted the photos. To get the best of both worlds, I used two Pentax Spotmatic camera bodies with three interchangeable lenses. One camera body was used for color film; the other was used for monochrome film. Interestingly, I learned a tremendous amount about photography by reading National Geographic where the photography is first-rate and appealed to my interests.

Most of my working life was spent in information systems. (We used to call it data processing.) I retired in January of 2006 and now have more time to devote myself to pursuing my love of photography.

People have asked me what kind of photography I do. There's no clear answer. To me, it's the image and the feeling that count, not the genre. I see wonderful images in a variety of places, so I would not like to be restricted to a single format or category. Over time, my photography has evolved and is still evolving as I develop new concepts and see things with a different eye. The journey is exciting and rewarding.

ALLAN RUBE   Before retiring in 2007 Allan was an elementary school teacher for 38 years. He has been interested in photography since high school, even having a darkroom in his cellar in the 1970s. After children were born and getting into running he stopped taking photographs except for family pictures.

That all changed with the purchase of his first digital camera, a Kodak that took 320 x 240 images. Now he uses Nikon equipment and is primarily interested in bird photography.
He wants to do more landscape photography in the future. He liked club field trips when he is able to attend.

DAVE MARDEN A few years before retiring my son gave me my first digital camera and I got hooked on it immediately.  I had done some black and white in my 20's and little photography since.  As soon as I bought my first software package and started printing my own photos I was really hooked.  I joined the Nashua Camera Club first and soon decided to try some shows,  thinking it might be a great way to occupy myself in retirement.  I also taught myself framing and matting and provide this service to others as a sideline.  Most of my work is landscape photography and can be viewed on my website, www.davemardenphotography.com.
