Competition

The Photographers Forum provides opportunities for members to submit their photos for competition, both at the local level (within the Club) and at the regional level (inter-club events). Local competition is highlighted here. For regional competition, see the Calendar.

Submissions.

At the local level, competitions are held during the Club's general meeting on the third Monday of the month. You may submit photos for competition in three formats: slides (analog or digital), color prints, and monochrome prints. For details about what photos you can submit and how to prepare them, see the Entering Competition.

  • Entering Competition  ( 3 items )

Rules, Subjects and Digital Submission Guidelines

  • Print Your Own Forms & Labels  ( 3 items )

To create your own competition Entry Forms and Print Labels, select and print the appropriate 8.5x11-inch sheets. Make sure the printer "Page Scaling" is set to "None" ("Zoom: 100%") to get full-size printout. The Entry Forms are used at the competition meeting to record scoring and winners. (Note: you do NOT need an entry form for a digital slide.)

The Print Labels allow the Competition Committee to match prints with Entry Forms and to know which print edge is up.

  • Competition Results  ( 25 items )

Winning images, when available, can be found in the galleries.

If you would like to have your winning prints online, please submit them to the webmaster. As with competition, images must be no larger than 1024x768 in jpeg format.

  • Judging  ( 5 items )

Competition photos are scored by a team of six judges, three from outside the club and up to three internal (selected at random). Each judge awards a score between 1 and 10 (the maximum possible score is scaled to 30). We've prepared information to help you understand how your photos are judged, and to help you become a better judge.
